story: |
At a nursing home, Evelyn meets an
old woman, Ninny who told her story of 2 young women in 1920s,
Idgie and her friend Ruth. The story encourages Evelyn. In the
crisscross of the past and present, friendships of 2 pair of
women is told with mystery and black humor. The original novel
is written by Fannie Flagg.
|
point: |
There can be seen a deep love beyond
friendship between Idgie who try to defend Ruth desperately
and Ruth who relies on Idgie. Friendship afterlife between Evelyn
and Ninny is heart warming. Each actress performs their roll
attractively. A drama with themes such as racial discrimination,
Jane Crow and aging, but not too heavy. Original novel refers
to romantic feeling of Idgie and Ruth toward each other, and
is worth reading.
