The 2nd
film by Rodrigo Carcia who directed "Things You Can Tell
Just by Looking at Her" and has leapt to fame. His approach
toward the possibility of film making is fresh and ambitious
in his 2nd theatrical film. In the previous film, he successfully
composed 5 stories with 8 women on turning point. This movie
is composed with 10 stories and more radical in story-telling.
Garcia trys to seize real feeling of 8 actresses who get into
each character. Stimulating tension in relationships between
women that exists within the quiet image leads to a great stream
of human feelings. A truth between fiction and documentary easily
scooped by Garcia.
On screen from August 10,
2002 at Image Forum (Shibuya) and other theaters. (Off screen
now)
Monster's Ball(US 2001)
