Vatel
(France/UK 2000) |
|
An extant genious cook who called
forth admiration of the king. |
Vatel, a brilliant cook, who conducted
three days of feast and impressed Louis XIV, is famous as the
inventor of Cream Chanti (whipped cream). Tatsuhiko Shibusawa
writes about him as a proud artist in his nobel. This movie
depicts love, conspiracy, and desire during those 3 days. Outstanding
staffs and casts makes it the first-class human drama. |
