|
story: |

of company's response and alteration of the record, and she

of Karen Silkwood who died in 1974 under circumstances which
are still under debate.
|
point: |
Dolly (Cher) is a lesbian, who tells her love
to Karen knowing that she would not say yes. It's impressive
to see an ordinary woman, Karen fight against company with firm
belief despite of insidious bullying and chilly view of colleagues.
Cher's tears at the last scene with Amazing Grace as background
misic is touching. Cher won the best assist actress of the Golden
Globe Award.

Lianna
(US 1983)
Directed by John Sayles
Featuring Linda Griffiths, Jane Hallaren
|
story: |
Lianna in her 30s was living with her husband
and 2 kids. Lianna started studing at the college where her
husband works as a lecturer, and she falls in love with the
lecturer, Ruth. However, Lianna raises distrust toward Ruth
who tries to hide their relationship. A story of a woman and
her self-subsistence centering on marriage and love
|
point: |
Lianna, who gave up her career to be a full-time
housewife, raises her frustration by husband's infidelity and
sexist behavior. Pain as a woman is concentrated in Lianna's
life. In the way how Lianna watches other women, her sympathy
and tenderness toward women can be seen. The story of a wife
who runs away from her husband and kids for female lover was
shocking and scandalous back then
