way. By a critical article Eva wrote toward the party, things
are degenerated. This is a drama that depictures political consciousness
and sexuality.
|
point: |
This movie shows a lesbian Eva being
anguished to find another way to live life the way how she is.
At that time when this movie was taken, Hungary was under the
effect of Cold War. The ending Eva goes through after seeking
love and freedom is a pain. Jadwiga Jankowska-Cieslak won the
Prix d'interpretation feminine du Festival international du
film and the movie itself received the Prix special de la critique
internationale at Cannes Film Festival.?

Best (USA 1982)
Directed by Robert Towne
Featured Mariel Hemingway, Patrice Donnelly
|
story: |
An track and field athlete, Chris
met Tory at Olympics preliminary in Oregon in 1967. After the
preliminary, Chris and Tory started training and living together
under the direction of same coach, Tingloff. With Tory's support,
Chris develops her skill. A sports drama of athletes striving
for the national team for Moscow Olympics, their love beyond
friendship.
|
point: |
The scene of Chris and
Tory making love was a media event as the first screen imaged
lesbian love at that time. The two are sometimes rivals, friends
and other times are lovers. Such relationship is rather special
to women. The scene of Olympic game in which 12 high-ranked
real athletes appear is blasting.
