"Compared to men with smoking habit, women who smoke cigarettes have tendency to get respiratory organs disease such as asthma." - some research finding was published in a medical science journal of Norway on 15. Although the exact cause is not clear, research group pointed out the relevance of lung size and diseases.

The doctor group of National Research Center of Public Health had research on over 65,000 male and female. And they found that the risk of women with smoking habit getting respiratory organs diseases is 50% higher than non-smoking women. The figure is higher than the comparison between smoking and non-smoking men. Therefore doctors concluded that women tend to easily get ill effect of smoking compared to men.

Doctors said, "Generally speaking, the lung size of women is smaller than men so that the consistency of noxious fume might be higher." It is said that more than 150 million people in the world get some damage of health caused by smoking. Especially in developing countries, the damage health by smoking increased 50 percent in the past 25 years.
