Handicaps
How to communicate with people with handicap?
|
Etiquette against people
with hearing difficulties |
Hearing difficulties varies. Some have
no hearing, or severe auditory disturbance, and others have poor hearing
with hearing aid.
To communicate with people with hearing difficulties, lip speaking,
sign language, finger alphabet, and writing messages are thought to
be effective. If you wish to understand each other, it can be done
just by nods and gestures, and facial expressions.

Lip speaking: |
Understand what is spoken by reading the mouthing.
Effective in daily conversation.
Hard to read when the mouthing is too fast or small.
Speak face to face so that they can read the movement of your
mouth. It's not necessary to speak loudly.
Speaking with pauses between words would be helpful. |
|
Sign language: |
Talk with finger alphabet and hand motion.
|
|
Writing messages: |
Have a conversation by writing down
on memo pads or any paper with pen.
This method would be better when the conversation is delicate
and intricate. |
