How to communicate with people with handicaps?
|
Etiquettes against people
with handicaps. |
Helping people with handicaps is expected
to every one of us. Voluntary assist would be better. No matter with
or without handicap, we all are living in mutual cooperation unknowingly.
As people differ from one to another, handicaps differ from one person
to another. To understand and appreciate each personality is the basic
etiquette against people with handicap.
Helping handicapped people is expected. But to touch the body or roll
a wheelchair without notice is rude and might frighten them. Please
let them know your will to assist them.
If you see handicapped person who seems needing help, ask what you
can do for him/her first. Handicapped people know how to be assisted.
Refrain to treat handicapped people differently or treat them as if
they can't do anything by themselves. Avoid words and acts based on
pity toward them. Volunteer when you find things you can do to help
them.
